Everyone Bleeds The Same Color Blood
“Human beings are members of a whole, in creation of one essence and soul. If one member is afflicted with pain, other members uneasy will remain. If you have no sympathy for human pain, the name of human you cannot retain.” – Sa’adi
We’re All Connected—Even When We Forget
In a world that feels increasingly divided, it’s easy to lose sight of what unites us. We’re told to stand our ground, defend our beliefs, and align ourselves with tribes—cultural and lifestyle, social and professional, generational, belief and value based, interest and identity based and last but not least, digital. But beneath the surface of our opinions and identities, there’s an undeniable truth: everyone bleeds the same color blood. We’re all human, shaped by the same fundamental needs, fears, and hopes.
How We’re Programmed
From the moment we’re born, our brains and bodies absorb everything around us. We’re programmed by family, culture, and society—by the stories we’re told and the energy we soak up. Our earliest experiences create patterns in our minds and energy systems, often without us realizing it.
These patterns, as I’ve discussed in recent blogs, settle into our chakras—our energy centers—where they influence how we see ourselves and others. Over time, these imprints can lead us to act from a place of fear, ego, or defensiveness, rather than from our higher selves.
The Trigger Cycle
All it takes is a disagreement, a news headline, or a social media post to set off old programming. Our nervous systems react. Our energy becomes blocked, and we find ourselves triggered—sometimes by things that, on the surface, seem small.
Why does this happen? Because, as humans, we’re constantly seeking safety and belonging. Our early programming teaches us who is “us” and who is “other.” This worked for survival in ancient times, but today, it often leads to division and polarization.
What My Clients Teach Me Every Day
In my work, I have the privilege of sitting with clients from every walk of life—different ages, races, socioeconomic backgrounds, political, and spiritual/religious views. Despite their outward differences, I see the same core struggles, the same longing for healing, connection, and purpose. The fears, triggers, and hopes that surface in our sessions are not unique to any one group; they are simply human. This work has taught me that our divisions are often surface-level, while our shared humanity runs deep.
Whether someone is navigating loss, searching for meaning, or trying to heal old wounds, the heart of the process is always the same: we want to be seen, heard, and understood. There is no political stance, income bracket, or belief system that shields anyone from pain—or from the desire to grow beyond it.
The Pandemic Mirror
COVID-19 was a global trigger like no other. It forced us inward—physically and emotionally. Some of us woke up to deep truths about ourselves and our connections. Others struggled, falling back into old habits of blame, judgment, or withdrawal.
The pandemic showed us just how interconnected we are. A virus doesn’t care about politics or beliefs; it moves through humanity indiscriminately. In the face of uncertainty, many of us were called to examine our own programming: Where do my reactions come from? Am I responding from fear, or from a place of compassion and clarity?
In these moments of reflection, I often find myself asking: Am I living in my truth or am I caught in a matrix of illusion created by old wounds, external influences, and unconscious beliefs? The pandemic invited all of us to pause and consider whether we are truly aligned with our authentic selves, or if we are simply repeating patterns handed down by family, culture, or the echo chambers of society.
Division vs. Unity: A Choice Point
It’s tempting to look outside ourselves for answers—to try to change others, control the narrative, or prove our point. But as I’ve explored in my chakra series, true transformation begins within.
When we become aware of our triggers, notice where we feel stuck or disempowered, and bring loving attention to those places, we begin to shift. Our energy starts to flow more freely. We move from ego-driven reactions to responses rooted in our higher self.
This inner work isn’t just for us—it’s for our families, our children, and the collective. The way we nurture and teach the next generation sets the tone for the world they’ll inherit. If we show them how to process emotions, question old patterns, and act from love rather than fear, we plant seeds for unity and healing.
Practical Steps: Reprogramming Ourselves
So how do we begin to undo the programming that divides us? Here are a few steps inspired by both ancient wisdom and modern science:
1. Pause and Breathe:
When you feel triggered, resist the urge to react immediately. Take a few slow, deep breaths. This calms the nervous system and creates space for a new response.
2. Notice the Pattern:
Ask yourself, “Where have I felt this before?” Often, current triggers are echoes of old wounds—sometimes from childhood.
3. Tune Into Your Energy:
Check in with your body. Where do you feel tension or discomfort? Placing a hand on your heart or gut can help bring awareness to the blocked energy.
4. Bring Compassion:
Remind yourself that everyone is carrying their own pain and programming. Can you offer compassion to yourself and the other person—even if you disagree?
5. Choose a Higher Response:
Instead of acting from ego, try responding from your higher self. How would you want to be treated in this situation? What does love or wisdom look like here?
The Ripple Effect
When we do this work—again and again, imperfectly but persistently—our energy shifts. Our relationships soften. We become more present, less reactive. And as our personal energy changes, it radiates outward, affecting our families, communities, and beyond.
The fate of the world doesn’t rest on grand gestures or perfect policies. It depends on countless small choices made in everyday moments—especially within our own families and closest relationships. If we each focus on healing ourselves and nurturing our children with awareness and compassion, the world will change. That’s how unity grows, one conscious action at a time.
Returning to Our Shared Humanity
At the end of the day, everyone bleeds the same color blood. Our stories may differ, our beliefs may clash, but our essence is the same. We’re all on a journey to remember who we truly are—beyond the programming and the pain.
The next time you find yourself triggered or divided from someone else, pause. Take a breath. Remember your shared humanity. And ask yourself: “How can I respond from my higher self right now?”
Because when enough of us choose this path, we begin to co-create a world where division gives way to connection—and where everyone, everywhere, is honored for the beautiful, complicated, and perfectly human being they are.
Reflection Question:
What’s one small way you can bring more compassion and self-awareness into your daily interactions this week?
